Connectivity Summary, is a feature in the LIFX app that gives you a clearer view of the connectivity health of your LIFX devices. It can be found via the 'Settings Page' (Fig 1)
Connectivity Summary provides information in 3 key areas:
-
Connection Strength (RSSI)
This shows the signal strength between your LIFX device and your Wi-Fi router. This information was previously available in device settings, but Connectivity Summary makes it easier to identify devices that may have a weak signal. -
Signal Interference
Connectivity Summary shows signal strength over time and records the highest and lowest values for the week. A larger difference between these values can indicate that the device’s connection is being affected by interference or an unstable network environment.Connectivity Summary also includes an on-demand packet-loss check, which can provide a more up-to-date view of whether the device’s network connection is struggling. (Fig 2&3)
-
Connection Stability
This shows how often a device disconnects from and reconnects to the LIFX cloud over the course of a week. Frequent reconnects may indicate that the device is experiencing connection instability.
From the Connectivity Summary screen, you can view all devices or filter by Good, Fair, or Bad status. This allows you to review connectivity across your lights, including connection strength, signal interference, connection stability, connectivity state, connection type, and cloud connection status.
Connectivity Summary also provides contextual tips based on the issue being shown, helping you troubleshoot potential network or connectivity problems more easily.
