If you see “An issue has occurred” while setting up your LIFX light, it usually means the connection between your phone and the light briefly dropped during setup. The steps below resolve this in most cases.
1. Restart the light and your phone
This clears temporary communication issues.
Turn the light off and on once
Close and reopen the LIFX app
Restart your phone
Turn off Mobile Data so your phone stays on Wi-Fi
Try setup again.
2. Make sure the light is still in setup mode
If the light is no longer showing its setup pattern, reset it to return it to setup mode, then try again.

3. Reconnect your phone to the correct Wi-Fi network
Your phone and light must be on the same 2.4 GHz network for setup to continue.
Check that:
2.4 GHz is enabled
You’re not on Guest Wi-Fi
VPN or Private Relay is turned off
Try setup again.
4. Move closer to the router or primary mesh point
Weak signal or mesh steering can interrupt setup.
Try setting up within a few metres of your main router.
