Is my light paired with Matter?
Depending on which LIFX product your own, you may have set your product up using an Apple HomeKit QR Code, a Matter QR code or manually onboarded via the LIFX app using Wi-Fi protocol.
First, let's check if your light is actively using the new Matter protocol, follow these steps:
1) Tap on the name of light you wish to check
2) Tap on the three dots in the top right
3) Then tap the button "Light Settings"
4) Scroll down till you see a section titled "Matter"
- If the Matter status of your selected light reads "Unpaired" or "Not Discovered", your light is not using the Matter protocol
- If the Matter status of your light reads "Paired", your light is actively using the Matter protocol
- If you can not see a section titled "Matter", your light does not support Matter
- Click here to check if you light can be upgraded to Matter
5) To pair your lights with Matter:
a) Return to the dashboard
b) tap the (+) icon in the bottom menu
c) tap “New Product”
d) tap “New Light”
- If no devices are found, your lights Matter pairing mode has expired
To re-enter Matter pairing mode:
- Physically power your light off (via a traditional switch), count to 5 and then power it back on. This will activate a new Matter pairing window that will remain open for 15 minutes
- After a few seconds, the button should update to show “Scan QR Code”. Tap the button and follow the onboarding flow. You will need your Matter QR Code or 11 Digit ID which is printed on the device and in the user manual
- It is also possible that you will see a system prompt when you turn your light back on asking you to "Setup your device", you can use this flow to setup via LIFX or any other Matter enabled Apps you have installed
