To use SmartThings with your LIFX bulbs, you will need a SmartThings hub, and an account for your LIFX app, and one for your SmartThings app.

Steps to get Samsung SmartThings set up:

  1. In the SmartThings mobile app, tap Marketplace
  2. Under the Things view, tap Light Bulbs
  3. Select LIFX Color 1000
  4. Tap Connect Now
  5. Log in to your LIFX account and authorize SmartThings to access your lights
  6. Check the box next to your devices, then tap Done
  7. Tap Done again.
  8. Your lights have been added to SmartThings! 

How to control connected LIFX bulbs
After connecting your LIFX bulbs, you can manually control them from the Things view of the SmartThings mobile app:

  1. Tap My Home > Tap Things
  2. Select the device

You can also automate your LIFX bulbs with Smart Lights.

  1. Tap Marketplace
  2. Tap SmartApps
  3. Tap SmartThings Recommends
  4. Tap Smart Lights by SmartThings
  5. Tap New Lighting Automation
  6. Configure your lighting automations as desired 

How to remove a LIFX bulb from SmartThings

If the LIFX bulb is connected but not operating as normal, you may need to remove the device and reconnect it with the SmartThings Hub.

To remove the device via the SmartThings app:

  1. Tap My Home Tap Things
  2. Select the device
  3. Tap the gear icon
  4. Tap Edit Device
  5. Tap Remove
  6. Confirm removal (this cannot be undone)
